Day 2 - Discover Muscat’s Soul
After breakfast, set off on a half day guided tour of Muscat, a city where tradition and modern life blend beautifully. Visit the Grand Mosque, an incredible masterpiece of marble, chandeliers, and intricate detail. Wander through the lively Muttrah Fish Market, then dive into the Muttrah Souq, one of Oman’s oldest markets.
Explore the Bait Al Zubair Museum to get a feel for Oman’s culture and history, and stop for photos at the Al Alam Palace, framed by the two old Portuguese forts, Mirani and Jalali.
The afternoon is yours to relax at hotel.
Day 3 – Wadi and sinkhole adventures
From Muscat, set out along the scenic coastal highway towards Sur, for a stop at the striking Bimah Sinkhole, a dramatic natural crater filled with shimmering emerald water.
Continue on to Wadi Shab, often described as one of Oman’s most beautiful wadis. Carved deep into the mountains, this lush oasis reveals soaring cliffs, hidden caves, palm groves and crystal-clear pools. The walk through the wadi is a real highlight, taking around an hour each way. At the end of the trail, you’ll reach the famous keyhole, where you can swim through into a hidden cavern.
Day 4 – Journey to Nizwa and the Mountains
Leave the coast behind this morning and head inland to Nizwa, once Oman’s capital and still a vibrant centre of local life. Explore the impressive Nizwa Fort and browse the souq, where you’ll find everything from silver jewelry and woven baskets to spices and the famous Omani dagger, the khanjar.
In the afternoon, continue to the ancient mountain village of Misfat Al Abriyeen, where time seems to stand still. Stay in a charming guesthouse made of stone, overlooking lush date terraces and deep valleys. It’s a chance to experience the warmth of true Omani hospitality.
Day 5 – Forts, Castles & Cool Mountain Air
Your adventure continues today with visits to Bahla Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Jabreen Castle, one of the most beautiful in Oman, famous for its carved doors and painted ceilings.
Then it’s up into the Jebel Akhdar mountain, known as “The Green Mountain.” The drive is spectacular, with winding roads, dramatic cliffs, and tiny villages clinging to the hillsides.
Arrive at your mountain retreat in time to enjoy a relaxing afternoon and evening.
Days 6 - 7 – Exploring and Unwinding in Jebal Akhdar
Start your mornings with breakfast overlooking the canyon, then meet your local guide for an unforgettable exploration of the Saiq Plateau and its traditional mountain villages. Visit Al Aqr, Al Ayn, and Al Sharijah, where ancient stone houses and terraced farms cling to the cliffs. Wander through pomegranate and walnut orchards, and if you’re visiting between February and May, breathe in the fragrance of Damask roses in bloom.
After your morning excursion, the afternoon is yours to rest and enjoy the your hotel.
Day 8 – Into the Desert: The Wahiba Sands
Today you’ll begin your descent from the mountains and head toward the golden dunes of Wahiba Sands. Along the way, stop at the Oman Across the Ages Museum in Manah — a great interactive stop that brings the country’s history to life.
As you reach the desert and leave the tarmac behind, your 4x4 glides over endless rolling dunes. You’ll reach your desert camp in time to climb the highest dune and watch a breathtaking sunset spread across the sands.
In the evening, share stories under the stars, enjoy a delicious dinner around the campfire, and feel the stillness of the desert night.
Day 9 – Oasis Adventure & Return to the Coast
Wake early to visit Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s most famous wadis — a natural paradise of turquoise pools and palm trees. Go for a swim, explore the trails, or simply relax before the heat of the day sets in.
Later, return to Muscat and check into your hotel for a relaxing last few days of your trip.
Days 10 -11 – Ocean Days & Island Adventures
Spend these final days however you wish — relaxing by the pool, playing on the beach, or heading out on a private boat trip to the Daymaniyat Islands, one of Oman’s natural treasures.
This protected marine reserve is home to colourful coral reefs, turtles, and (if you’re lucky) dolphins. Snorkel in crystal-clear waters, explore white sandy beaches, and enjoy refreshments on board before returning to Muscat in the afternoon.
